History
House moving is one of the oldest recycling industries in the world. Houses are often moved because of financial benefit, road construction, historic preservation, or sentimental value. Homes may be moved to their location with little to no damage to the structure.

As the development of Florida continues, new homes such as this are often demolished to make room for newly developed communities. This dwelling was scheduled for destruction before it was moved.

This historic house was constructed by Lawrence B. Brown in the early 1900's. The house was relocated for Neighborhood Improvement Corporation of Bartow, Inc.
